FORK LIFT OPERATOR TRAINING - OSHA REQUIREMENTS


VISTA conducts forklift operator training courses helping you meet OSHA 29 CFR Parts 1910, 1915, 1917, 1918 and 1926.

OSHA 1910.178 states that after December 1, 1999:

“Only trained and authorized operators shall be permitted to operate a powered industrial truck. Methods shall be devised to train operators in the safe operation of powered industrial trucks.”

The regulation requires that employers must:
   1. Develop a complete training program
   2. Certify all training and evaluations
   3. Provide training that is accountable
   4. Maintain records.

The OSHA regulation addresses the following types: Class 1. Electric Motor, Sit-Down Rider, Counter-Balanced Trucks (Solid and Pneumatic tires) Class 2.
